i made this for someone who had a baby girl but didn't want a super "girly" blanket. the pale yellow minky fabric has a rose pattern so it's girly, but very neutral.
i love this blanket because it has kind of a vintage-y look to it. it's made out of a super soft velvet/minky like material...hard to describe. orange and hot pink, beautiful fabrics, but a nightmare to work with! i love the way it turned out but i will most likely never work with this type of fabric again. i used ribbon for the trim of this blanket and i really like the look of that as well. so, here's a one of a kind, i guess :)
i couldn't resist. i found the cutest flannel fabric with little birdies on it and i had to make something for my 3rd little byrdie! this is the same blanket as gavin's (two posts down), except that i used rick rack for the border of this one. these blankets measure approx. 38"x38" and are made of soft, cuddly flannel fabrics, perfect for the fall and winter! instead of doing her name and birthday, i just did her name and added a little bird embroidery to match the bird fabric on the other side.
this set is made of flannel materials with a contrasting piping around the edges. baby's name and birthday are embroidered on the bottom of the blanket. the burp cloth is flannel on one side and cloth diaper on the other and has baby's initials embroidered in the coordinating fabric. it also has an attached pacifier holder so mom has a handy spot to keep it while feeding baby! these sets are $40 - $30 for the blanket and $10 for the burp cloth.
i made these for my daughter for kindergarten. she needed a little nap pillow and blanket and i thought it would be fun for her to pick out her own fabric. i also embroidered it so she didn't have her name labeled in big ol' black permanent marker!
i made this blanket for my cousins baby girl (the 12th great grand-daughter in our family!). it is embroidered with first and middle name in one corner and birthdate and weight in the other corner. it's swirl minky on one side (super, super soft) and satin animal print on the other.
i remembered to take a picture of this blanket before it left my hands!! here are some pics of the fabulous baby blankets i make. they are minky on one side and silky fabric on the other. the measure approximately 29x39 but i can make them in any size. i can use any color combination if you want to match a carseat or a nursery. this is the minky swirl fabric i used to make the previous blanket...
